"Your Computer is infected" warning from Windows Explorer
I just had a windows internet explorer warning box pop up on my computer that says my computer is infected. On the page behind the box it listed 5 viruses with a link to start protection(see below). I have McAfee Security on my PC but when I tried to close the box another one popped up asking if I'm sure I want to navigate away from the page because my system is at risk of crash. Everything looks like a legitimate windows warning, but I'm worried that it's a virus itself......does anyone know what it is and if it's legit?System foldersShared Documents5 Viruses foundMy Documents Viruses foundHard driveHard drive (C:)5 Viruses foundSecurityWindows SecuritySecurity is affected by virus100%Checking: C:\..\Default User\Application Data\Prop\Microsoft\0820_MS.SPDYour Computer is infectedName Type Threat level Win32.HLLW.Shadow.basedVirusHigh Win32/Conficker.AEVirusHigh Banker.MGBVirusCritical Trojan.DownLoad.37236VirusHigh HTML/Scrlnject.B.GenVirusCriticalRecommend: Click "Start Protection" button to erase all threats 1 person needs an answerI do too

you likely have scare ware and wont damage your system because it not a virus, per se.. but is a malware nevertheless. the question is how are the messages being generated on your system. it might be software that you installed recently or is your browser hijacked? I would first try inoculating your system with spybot. -- db`...><)))> ."Kramer09" wrote in message news:37fb5974-298e-492e-8b1e-17966c5b8cb3...I just had a windows internet explorer warning box pop up on my computer that says my computer is infected.
